Sleep Fictions: A Digital Companion

This collection includes all notes related to kinesis and stasis. I use these terms to address literary explorations into bodily energy storage and the possibilities for socially transmitting corporal energy. The nineteenth century saw an abundance of experimentation with electricity.

This curiosity is evident in the literary texts, particularIy in regard to how bodily energy can be conducted and transmitted in ways similar to conductors of electricity. The War of the Currents (1880's and 1890's) is a prime example of the nation's fascination with the potentials powers and dangers of capitalizing upon electrical currents.
